Cosmetic surgery involves reshaping normal structures of the body for esthetic and self-esteem purposes.  Although this form of surgery is not normally covered by insurance, Dr. Oxley provides means of financing to help make procedures affordable.

Reconstructive surgery is performed on abnormal structures of the body such as areas in trauma, tumors, birth defects, infection, and congenital defects, often to improve form and function.  This type of surgery is generally covered by insurance, but it is important to check your insurance policy and with Dr. Oxley to determine your exact coverage.

Will I have a scar after plastic surgery?

Scarring is inevitable in the normal healing process, but the severity of scarring is dependant on each individual.  However, Dr. Oxley has spent years to master the ability to place scars in more desirable, virtually unnoticeable areas of the body.  This allows you to enjoy all the benefits of plastic surgery without unsightly telltale markings.  Scars naturally fade over time, allowing for an even more seamless outcome for years to come.

Although impossible to completely eliminate all of the individual and inherent risks of surgery, Dr. Oxley is trained and experienced to recognize and reduce these risks.

Are there any pregnancy complications for plastic surgery?

Dr. Oxley’s primary goal is to ensure the safety of you and your child when considering elective surgery.  As a result, Dr. Oxley recommends that any elective surgery be postponed until after pregnancy.

Likewise, Dr. Oxley also recommends that elective surgeries such as tummy tucks, breast lifts, and breast reductions be postponed until after pregnancy if  you are planning pregnancy within the next couple of years.
